Orland Park probate attorney Margaret (“Meg”) O’Sullivan is a proud lifelong resident of the Beverly neighborhood on the south side of Chicago where she and her husband are raising their children. Meg attended Mother McAuley High School in Chicago and Loyola University Chicago receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1992. While pursuing her undergraduate studies at Loyola University Chicago, Meg had a unique opportunity to participate in the college work study program offered at Loyola University Law School, which sparked her interest in a law career. Meg attended Loyola University Law School receiving her law degree in 1996. After graduating from Loyola University Law School, Meg was offered a position in the highly competitive Cook County State’s Attorney Office. As a prosecutor, Meg developed her relentless attention to detail and compassion to advocate for the best outcome for her clients. Meg decided to bring that experience and tenacity to the private sector when she joined the law office of Michael T. Huguelet P.C. as a member of their real estate law team.
Meg concentrates her practice in the areas of residential real estate, guardianship, probate, estate planning and municipal prosecution. Meg recognizes that her success in representing her real estate clients stems from her due diligence, attention to detail and counseling clients with an appreciation that each real estate transaction is a life-long investment for her clients. As part of her ongoing commitment to public service, Meg serves as a municipal prosecutor for the Village of Orland Park. Meg’s expertise and dedication have resulted in judicial appointments as Guardian ad Litem, allowing her to advocate for disabled individuals who would otherwise not have their interests represented in Court.
As one of the 30,000 members of the prominent Illinois State Bar Association (ISBA), Meg was appointed by the ISBA President to serve as one of 40 attorneys on the ISBA’s Women and the Law Committee. As a current member of this Committee, she works with her peers in the legal profession and in the community to address legal issues affecting women.
Meg’s late father, a captain on the Chicago Police Department, showed her by example that it was important to serve the community, excel in her profession and advocate for the best interest of her clients. Meg finds her greatest achievement is the trust her clients have in her and she prides herself on being accessible to her clients when they need her most.
